These are common question we get regarding the Moose Tour. We have tried to provide the best answer we can for these questions. If you still need more info please contact us and we will do our best to fill in any blanks.

Answer 4- We have a ride limit of 165 people. We have found that this limit allows riders to get to know each other and there is not a lot of waiting for showers or food. Answer 5- Most breakfasts and dinners are included as part of the ride fee. To find out which meals are included please see the Each Day page. Answer 6- Yes you will need to provide your own camping equipment. This includes a tent and sleeping equipment. You will be sent a list of things to bring after we receive your completed sign up. Answer 7- You will be sent a list of things to bring after we receive you completed sign up. Answer 8- We have an airport shuttle run that picks up at the Portland, Maine airport. The shuttle picks up at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday July 9, 2005. There is a fee of $35. This fee includes both pick up and drop off at the Portland, Maine airport. The drop off will be by 3:00 p.m. on July 15, 2005. We recommend that you ship your bike ahead to us. Answer 9- Yes you can fly into Boston and take a commercial shuttle service call Mermaid Transportation. They can be reached by phone at 1-800-696-2463 (1-800-My-Maine) or on the web at http://www.gomermaid.com. When making these arrangements please make sure you will arrive at the Portland, Maine airport by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday July 9, 2005 We recommend that you send you bike ahead. Answer 10- We recommend that you DO send your bike ahead if you are flying in or have complicated travel arrangements. This will save both money, possible frustration, and make it easier to make any last minute travel/flight changes. It is less expensive to ship your bike by UPS or FedEx than to check it as baggage on a flight. If your connecting flight gets cancelled or delayed this can also create problems. Answer 12- A “non-rider” is some one that is accompanying someone on the trip but does not wish to ride their bike to get from stop to stop. This person needs to provide their own transportation and is not supported during the day’s ride. However they eat, camp, etc. with the group. |
